Tony Dutton

Tony Dutton is a landscape and travel photographer who explores natural and built environments. He is especially interested in the ways these spaces interact.

Tony works mainly in monochrome. He uses tone, texture and geometry to create clear, uncluttered compositions. He looks for quiet locations where the subject can hold its own and where light can shape the mood of the image.

His practice combines digital and analogue methods. He produces archival pigment prints as well as platinum-palladium prints made from digital negatives.

Tony also creates handmade photographic books. These allow him to present his images as a sequence and to build a broader visual narrative around place, light and form.

His work reflects a sustained interest in stillness, structure and the relationship between the natural world and human intervention.
