Warren Veivers is a Brisbane-based photographer with a longstanding involvement in photographic practice, education and the wider photographic community. His interest in photography began during his high school years and has continued through decades of image-making, teaching, judging and exhibiting.
Throughout his career, Warren has exhibited his work nationally and internationally. He has taught photography to primary school students, conducted workshops for photographic groups and delivered presentations at camera clubs, conventions and judges’ training programs throughout Queensland and New South Wales.
Warren has also made a significant contribution to the Photographic Society of Queensland. He has served on its management committee, including a term as President, and has been an accredited PSQ judge since 1987. His judging experience includes local competitions, the Brisbane Exhibition, camera clubs, and national and international photographic exhibitions. He is currently a member of the PSQ Judges Executive.
A life member of one photographic society and a founding member of another, Warren remains actively involved in supporting photographic education and encouraging the development of other photographers.
Although he embraced digital photography many years ago, Warren has maintained a strong commitment to monochrome photography and the expressive possibilities of the photographic print. His longstanding involvement with the Fine Monochrome Print Group and the Mount Gravatt Photographic Society’s Monochrome Group reflects this enduring interest.
